學了英語這麼多年，想必大家在學校接觸到的第一個單詞就是school了。所以一提到school難免同學們的第一印象就是學校!但在有些時候school還真的另有含義~

01 old school

old舊的，school學校，但是這兩個詞組合起來可不是你想的「舊學校」那麼簡單。其實這裡的「school」主要表示「流派、學派、風格」。所以「old school」 指的是老一套、老做派、傳統手法等。用「old school.」形容人和事的時候，傳遞的感覺要比「traditional」、「vintage」更高級、更精緻一些。

例：

He was very old-school in his approach to management.

他的管理方式很陳舊。

old school在外國人的潛意識裡已經把它認定為「守舊派，保守派，老派」。就好比當我們談到「一言不合就開車」，大家都會明白是 「講段子」，又有誰會想到是「司機在開車」呢?

02 school of thought

流派，派系，學派

例：

There are several schools of thought about how the universe began.

對於宇宙是如何形成的，有幾派不同的看法。

03 tell tales out of school

tell tales out of school意思是「揭人隱私」、「搬弄是非」、「背後講壞話」。

例：

Don t tell tales out of school.

不要背後講壞話。
