1899.06.12-1968.12.26，笔名Weegee，是一位专攻犯罪和暴力的自由派报纸摄影师和摄影记者，以在纽约市的黑白街拍而著称。
上世纪三四十年代，Weegee曾在曼哈顿下东区担任摄影记者，通过跟踪该市的紧急服务和记录他们的活动，发展了他的标志性风格。他的许多作品描绘了城市生活、犯罪、伤害和死亡的坚定现实场景。威吉出版了摄影书籍，也在电影院工作，最初他自己制作短片，后来与杰克·多诺霍和斯坦利·库布里克等电影导演合作。
