我们都知道在英语中表示一次用单词“one time”；两次“two times”。那two-time你见过吗？是什么意思呢？
一、Two-time
其实，Two-time 表示劈腿，欺骗，背叛（恋人等），也就是我们常说的“脚踏两只船”，这个词源于”to have two at a time.” ，常用于非正式场合中。
这里的two表示”两个恋人”；at a time表示同时；to have two at a time也就是说同时拥有两个恋人，也就是劈腿，出轨的意思。
“two-time”这个词据说最早出现于1924年，来源不确定。传说是因为当时美国肯塔基州有个刑事案件，当事人因脚踏两只船而酿成祸事，警方称当事人”have two at a time”（同时有两个性伴侣），后来就简略成two-time了。
要注意，two-time是个动词哦，使用时要注意时态！
She was two-timing on me so we broke up.
她劈腿了，所以我们就分手了。
二、Two-timer
也就表示出轨的人了，也就是出轨者，劈腿者的意思。
He has two girlfriends. He is a two-timer.
他竟然有两个女朋友，他是个出轨者。
三、lover
在英文表达中，lover也不是爱人，而是情人的意思。
它的英文释义是这样的：someone's lover is the person they are having a sexual relationship with but who they are not married to.
“lover”并不是指真正的爱人，而是那种还没有结婚，注重“性”方面的人，也就是我们所说的“情人”。
四、Lady friend
看到这个词，你可别理解成“妇女之友”之类的意思，而是小三，情妇的意思。
He will take his new lady friend to dinner and a movie tonight.
他今晚会带着他的新情妇去吃饭看电影。
其它还有表达小三的短语，如the other woman、home wrecker、the other man（也不是不可以，男小三嘛）。
五、third wheel
它可不是小三的意思，其字面意思可以理解为“第三个轮子”，其实表示两人约会时，还有同行者，而这个无关紧要的人就是“third wheel”，也就是我们常说的“电灯泡”！
“third wheel”也时常用于美国俚语中，表示“成事不足败事有余者”。
She doesn't want to be a third wheel.
她可不想当“电灯泡”。
