一、現在進行時的常規用法有下面3種
a、當表示說話時正在進行的動作或存在的狀態；
b、表示現階段一直在進行的動作，但此時此刻動作不一定正在進行；
c、表示此時此刻某一個動作不斷的重複。
我們來看幾個例句：
The students are having English class.
學生正在上英語課。（a情況）
David is teaching English and learning Chinese in Beijing.
大衛正在北京教英語，同時學習漢語。（b情況）
The girl is jumping with great joy at the sight of the toy doll.
一看到玩具娃娃，女孩就高興地一直在跳。（c情況）
二、我們來看下現在進行時的3種特殊的用法
a、表示計劃或安排將要發生的動作，常和一個表示將來的時間狀語連用。
I am having dinner with Tom tonight.今晚我要和Tom共進晚餐。
They are leaving for New York tomorrow.他們明天就啟程前往紐約。
b、與always，usually，forever等連用表示生氣、讚揚、好奇等感情色彩。
He is always quarreling with others.他總是和別人吵架.（表示生氣）
You are always thinking of others first.你總是先想到別人。（表示讚揚）
c、表示動作逐漸變化的過程，常用動詞有get,come,become,go,leave,start,stop等。
The old buildings in the town are getting old and damaged.城鎮里的古老建築也在變老、受損。
He is getting better and better. 他的狀況變得越來越好。
