I was still hoping to return to England one day.But the ship inwhich I had arrived in Brobdingnag was the first that had evercome near the coast.So I could not see how I could getaway.I began to think more and more about my family andmy home.
我仍然希望有朝一日回到英國。可是我到達布羅卜丁奈格時乘坐的輪船是第一隻曾經靠近此處海岸的。所以我不知道怎樣才能逃離。我開始越來越想念我的家人和自己的家了。
By now I had been in Brobdingnag for about two years.When the King and Queen travelled tothe south coast，Glumdalclitch and I went with them.I really wanted to be close to the seaagain，which I had not seen or even smelt for so long.
這時我到布羅卜丁奈格已經有大約兩年了。國王和王后到南部海岸去旅行時，葛蘭達克利赤和我也一同前往。我真是想再度靠近大海，這麼長時間我既沒有看見也沒有聞見它了。
As Glumdalclitch was ill，I asked a young servant to take me down to the beach for some freshair.The boy carried me in my travelling box，and put me down on the beach，while he lookedfor birds eggs among the rocks.
由於葛蘭達克利赤生病了，我叫一個年輕僕人把我帶到海灘上呼吸新鮮空氣。這個男孩用我的旅行盒提著我，在海灘上把我放下來，他自己去石頭中找鳥蛋去了。
I looked sadly at the sea，but stayed in my box，and after a while I fell asleep.I was wokensuddenly when my box was lifted high in the air.I can only suppose that a large bird took hold ofthe ring on top of the box with his talons，and flew away with it.
我憂傷地看著大海，不過還是呆在我的盒子裡，過了一會兒我就睡著了。我的盒子被提到高空中，把我突然驚醒了。我只能猜測一隻大鳥的爪子抓住了我盒子頂部的環，帶著它飛走了。
Through the windows I could see the sky and clouds passing by，and I could hear the noise ofthe bird's wings.Then I was falling，so fast that I felt quite breathless.There was a loudcrash，as the box fell into the sea.
透過窗戶我可以看見天空和雲彩飛逝，我還可以聽見鳥翅膀的聲音。然後我往下跌，快得我覺得幾乎透不過氣。盒子掉進海水裡，濺起很響的水聲。
