How Bear Lost His Tail

大熊有一條又長又厚的尾巴，狐狸很嫉妒大熊的尾巴，想了一個辦法讓大熊的尾巴變短了。

Once upon a time, Bear had a long, thick tail.The other animals loved his tail.
很久以前，熊有一條長長的厚厚的尾巴。其它的動物們都很愛他的尾巴。

Bear didn't like it at all.
大熊一點也不喜歡這條尾巴。
He tripped over it when he was walking.
因為他走路的時候總是被尾巴絆倒。

It tickled his nose when he tried to sleep.
當它睡覺的時候，尾巴尖總是會撓到鼻子，讓它打噴嚏。
Little animals would even ride on it.
小動物們喜歡騎在它的尾巴上。

「Bear's tail is better than mine,」thought Fox.
「大熊的尾巴比我的更好，」狐狸想到。
He decided to play a trick on him.
於是，它決定戲弄熊一下。

He crept over to a fisherman and took a few fish.
狐狸悄悄的爬到漁夫身邊，偷走了幾條魚。

Fox carried the fish to an ice hole in the lake.
狐狸把魚藏到湖中的一個冰洞裡。
Bear smelled them. He came closer.
大熊聞到了魚的味道，慢慢走近來。

「Those fish look delicious,」said Bear.
「這些魚看上去很美味,」大熊說。
「I can show you how to catch them.」said Fox.
「我可以給你演示一下如何抓住它們。」狐狸說。

「Put your tail in the hole,」Fox told Bear.
「把你的尾巴伸進洞裡去，」狐狸告訴大熊。
「The fish will bite it and you can pull them out.」
「魚會咬你的尾巴，然後你可以把它們釣出來。」
It may take some time.
這可能會花費一些時間。

Bear waited and waited.
大熊等啊，等啊。
Day became night.
從白天等到了夜裡。
The night grew cold.It began to snow.
夜裡變的更冷了，雪開始下了起來。

The next day , Fox came back.
第二天，狐狸回來了。
Was Bear still there?
大熊還會在那兒嗎？
Fox could only see a huge heap of snow.
狐狸只看到了一大堆雪。
「Bear ?」he shouted.
「大熊？」狐狸喊到。

Bear jumped up. But his tail had frozen in the lake...
大熊跳了起來，但是它的尾巴被凍在了湖裡。
It broke off.
然後尾巴就斷掉了
「I』m so sorry!」Fox cried.「I didn』t know that would happen.」
「我很抱歉！」狐狸哭著說。「我不知道會發生這種事。」

Bear looked at his new short tail, and smiled.
大熊看著它的新的短短的尾巴，然後笑了。
That’s better!
真是太好了！
Bear padded away-and he didn』t trip once.
大熊輕輕地走了，它再也沒有被絆倒過。
