Adele

為了體驗不同的文化和生活方式，Adele在2012年初春來到中國，在山西省的一個小鎮當高中老師。初來乍到的英國女孩，努力適應中國氣候，飲食習慣……在不斷嘗試山西主食——麵條的時候，竟然很快愛上了北方美食。那段特殊又難忘的山西時光，也是她與中國緣分的開始。

問及為何從山西來到合肥，她回答說「Because my husband’s home is in Anhui Province，so we wanted to be closer to his home.」是的，這位英國女孩有位愛他的安徽小伙。他們在一次旅行中相識相知相愛，因為彼此對於未來的堅定，兩人相約一起來到合肥打拚奮鬥。她也因此結緣勵步英語，直到現在。

在勵步英語，Adele完成了兩次人生轉型，一次是從帶課老師到外事主管，一次是從單身女孩到為人妻為人母。

今天勵步君將帶大家一起走近勵步資深外教Adele，一起去探尋她與勵步英語的奇遇經歷。

從帶課老師到外事主管

2013年2月，Adele正式入職勵步，從一名普通的外教老師做起，每天面對面為學員授課，依靠自身的母語優勢和強大的親和力很快贏得了孩子們的喜愛。3年的一線授課經驗，讓她收穫了更多教學經驗，也被越來越多的同事認可。在2016年被提升為外教顧問，2017年正式升為外教主管，管理合肥分校所有外教的教職工作。

Adele直言：從當老師到做管理，其實是一個比較大的跨度，面對的對象從小朋友變成了外籍教師，工作內容從班級教學變成了教師管理。但不管職位或工作事項如何改變，認真、努力、負責是她始終堅持的工作原則。
在Adele的帶領下，合肥分校各校區外教工作井井有條，她不僅是所有外教工作上的領導，也是他們生活中的嚮導。

問到她當老師和當主管最大區別是什麼，她說「this is a difficult question"，又補充道："To be a supervisor you need to understand the wants of the teachers and how they feel, as they all come from different countries we need to ensure they are happy within the company and china. "

從2013年到現在，Adele已經在勵步合肥工作了快7年，這些年，她在勵步有哪些難忘的瞬間，有哪些開心的經歷和教育感悟呢？讓我們通過勵步君與Adele的採訪實錄來尋找答案。

你在勵步最難忘的一件事？

I have several!One of them is when I got the national award for the Top 10 International Teacher in First Leap.

我有好幾個！其中一個是獲得了全國十佳國際教師一等獎的時候。

Another is when one of my classes graduated after reaching Level 5 (192 curriculum) I had been teaching them since Level 2, and I was so proud of them and super sad to see them leaving! We all went out for a big meal and celebrated them graduating.

另一個是當我的一個班升到5級（192課程）後畢業。我從2級開始教他們，我為他們感到驕傲。當他們離開的時候，我感到非常難過！為了慶祝他們畢業，我們一起出去吃了一頓大餐。

The last one I』ll say is the friends that I have made here, I have made lots of friends over the past few years here with International Teachers, Chinese Teachers and management! It’s great to feel like a team.

最後我想說的是我在這裡交到的朋友，在過去的幾年裡，我在這裡結交了很多朋友，包括國際教師，中國教師和管理人員！是很好的團隊。

你在勵步最開心的時刻？

The happiest moments for me are when I see the progress the students have made. I have taught some students since they first began studying in First Leap and I watched them grow into wonderful children and their English skills have improved so much

對我來說最快樂的時刻就是看到學生們取得的進步，從他們開始學習以來，我就一直在給他們上課。我看著他們成長為非常棒的孩子，英語水平也有了很大的提高。

I feel like I have done my job correctly and they now have some skills they can use for the future.

我覺得我的工作做得很好，他們現在得到了一些未來可以發揮使用的技能。

可以分享一些你的教育理念嗎？

I think the most important things about education are love and attention.

我認為教育最重要的是關愛。

We must have a good relationship with the students and parents to ensure they are happy to be in our class, in this way we can give them the best lessons.

我們必須與學生和家長建立良好的關係，以確保他們能在我們的課堂上感到快樂，這樣我們就可以給他們最好的課程。

If we do not show our love then students will not be happy in our classes and won』t learn anything.

如果我們不表現出我們的關愛，那麼學生們就不會在我們的課堂上感到快樂，也不會學到任何東西。

To be a loving teacher is to be the best teacher. We need to be caring and kind with our students but also ensure they learn to the best of their abilities.

做一個關愛學生的老師，就是做最好的老師。我們需要關心和愛護我們的學生，但也要確保他們儘自己最大的能力去學習。

Attention is also important. We need to give attention to everything and everyone.

關注也很重要，我們需要關注每一個人和每一件事。

We need to ensure our lessons are ready to be presented and ensure we have all the materials needed for the class. We need to make sure that we understand the classes first before we teach the students.

我們需要確保做好我們的備課工作，並保證充分準備我們上課所需的所有材料。我們需要確保在教學之前熟練掌握課程的內容。

We need to give attention to every student in the class to make sure they are all learning and ready for the class. We need to make sure they are well rested and ready for the lesson.

我們需要關注班上的每一位學生，保證他們都在學習，而且我們也需要確保他們得到充分的休息，充分安排好學習和休息的時間。

We need to ensure that all the students are learning and paying attention to the class so that we have the best outcome from the lesson. We need to pay attention to the parents to ensure they are happy with their child’s learning.

我們需要確保所有的學生都在學習和注意課堂，這樣我們就能從課堂中獲得最好的學習成果。我們也需要關注家長，以確保他們對孩子的學習感到滿意。

Attention to detail is everything.

對細節的關注就是一切。

從單身女孩到初為人母

在勵步7年，Adele教過的小學員大概有近千名，從學前組到小低組，看著一批批的寶貝入學，然後畢業，這是一個老師特有的驕傲。而如今的Adele已經是一個7個月寶寶的媽媽，女兒非常可愛，這是一個女生獨有的幸福。

現在的Adele相比之前，少了些青澀，多了幾分成熟，舉手投足間都是當媽媽的幸福與溫柔。問到Adele平常生活中有什麼愛好的時候，她說」I used to travel a lot, recently not so much because I had a baby"，即使少了很多以前擁有的休閒時刻，但從言語間卻能感覺到Adele當媽媽的幸福感和滿足感。

當媽媽後，你在面對學員的時候心態上有什麼改變嗎？

I understand how they feel a bit better. It is difficult to be a child and there are so many things happening. We need to give them more love and attention。

我更能理解他們的感覺。當一個孩子很難，而且有很多事情發生。我們需要給他們更多的愛和關注。

「Tell me and I forget.

Show me and I remember.

Involve me and I understand.」

這是Adele最喜歡的一句話，當了媽媽的她在未來的工作中也會有更多為人母的感同身受，將愛和關注更好地傳達給勵步的中外教老師們，給勵步寶貝們帶來更棒的教學服務！
