時隔一年多，滴滴順風車回歸。然而，隨之而來的還有網友的一大波質疑。
11月6日，滴滴出行宣布，決定於11月20日起，陸續在哈爾濱、太原、北京、南通等7個城市上線試運營順風車業務。此前，由於兩名女性乘客被順風車司機殺害，滴滴順風車業務已中止400餘天。
Over a year after two women were allegedly killed by their Didi drivers, Didi Chuxing announced Wednesday that it will resume its Hitch carpooling service in select Chinese cities.
滴滴順風車業務於2015年上線，隨後迅速成為備受中國用戶歡迎的服務。滴滴曾表示，在2018年春節7天假期期間，共有3070萬用戶使用了順風車業務與家人團聚。
Didi's Hitch service was launched in 2015, quickly becoming a popular carpooling service among Chinese users before the suspension. Didi claimed 30.7 million Chinese used Hitch for the annual family reunion over the seven-day break during the 2018 Lunar New Year.
去年，河南和浙江發生兩起女性順風車用戶被司機殺害事件，滴滴隨即在8月份中止了順風車業務。事件發生後，滴滴出行備受批評，因為其提供的相關安全措施並未保護兩名女性，同時還允許司機根據乘客外貌進行評價。
Didi suspended its carpooling service in August 2018 after female Hitch passengers in Henan and Zhejiang provinces were killed, allegedly by their drivers. Afterward, the ride-hailing company was slammed for safety measures that had failed to protect the two women and for a feature that allowed drivers to rate passengers based on their physical appearance.
滴滴出行表示，從11月20日起，北京、哈爾濱以及其他5個城市開啟試運營，不過里程限制在50公里以內。
From Nov. 20, the Hitch service will gradually be rolled out in Beijing, Harbin, and five other cities, but only for rides shorter than 50 kilometers.
同時，滴滴方面還表示，試運營期間，女性用戶僅能在早5點-晚8點之間使用該服務，男性用戶最晚11點仍可使用滴滴順風車服務。
According to an official notice, the new iteration of Hitch will only be available to female users from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., with male passengers able to use the service until 11 p.m.
滴滴表示這一政策初衷是為了保護女性乘客，其他新推出的安全措施還包括更嚴格的司機資質審核，儘可能少的透露乘客信息給司機，同時更新了報警系統。
The policy — which Didi says is intended to protect female passengers — is part of a raft of new safety measures including stricter assessments of potential drivers, minimal passenger information available to drivers, and a revamped police alert system.
不過，順風車的新功能很快就遭遇了網友的diss：限制女性乘車並不能解決安全問題，同時也有網友質疑，滴滴出行是否有性別歧視嫌疑。
面對輿論爭議，滴滴出行方面很快回應：
我們已關注到有用戶關於「順風車試運行方案限制了女性夜間出行」的反饋，感謝大家的建議和批評。目前公布的是順風車小範圍試運行方案，屬於順風車公開徵集意見的一部分。未來正式上線的方案，將根據社會各方的意見反饋持續不斷完善。
滴滴出行總裁柳青也在微博上給出了自己的反饋：
對此，人民也發表評論稱「保護女性安全，就要限制女性夜間乘車嗎？這是個欠考慮的商業決策。」
11月7日晚，滴滴出行表示，在聽取各方意見和建議之後，決定對所有順風車用戶提供服務的時間均調整為5:00-20:00。
Didi Chuxing updated the service hours of its carpooling "Hitch" on Thursday to 5 a.m. to 8 p.m for both female and male users.
