MAP備考指南
MAP考試包含閱讀（Reading）、數學（Math）、語言運用（Language Usage）和科學（Science）四個科目，但國際學校一般不考科學。

MAP數學
年級：K-12年級
時間：約60分鐘
題目：約52題
題型：選擇題、拖拽填空題
考點：
number sense 數感
estimation and computation 預估和計算
algebra 代數
geometry 幾何
measurement 測量
statistic and probability 統計和機率
problem-solving, reasoning, and proofs 應用題解決、推理和證明
可以看出，MAP數學就是依據美國課程大綱這7大板塊來考試，3到12年級的課程板塊都是貫通的，但知識難度會逐漸遞增。
國內的孩子考MAP數學一般沒什麼問題，只要能跟上考綱的課程節奏，然後進行適當的超年級練習，考出來的平均分都比美國孩子的平均分高很多。
有些剛轉入國際學校的孩子數學考不好，是因為對數學的英文表達不熟悉。這種情況只需要有老師帶著用英文講數學題，並在課後多熟悉數學的英文專業詞彙，成績一般都能很快跟上。
MAP閱讀
年級：K-12年級
時間：約45-60分鐘
題目：約42題
題型：選擇題、填空題、匹配題等
測試內容：
Informational Text：Reading comprehension
信息文本：閱讀理解
——判斷句子主體、觀點對錯、時間事件順序、文章段落主旨等。
Literature：Reading comprehension
文學作品：閱讀理解
——了解人物特點、作者目的、主要情節和事件發展順序等。
Foundational Skills and Vocabulary詞彙和基本技巧
——考察詞彙的語音、詞義、正反義詞等詞彙關係。
由於英文是美國的母語，所以他們設計的閱讀題，即使是低年級的題目篇幅也很長，這對國內的孩子來說真是一種挑戰！
如果是從小就讀國際學校，英文水平流利的孩子那MAP閱讀並不成問題，只需做一些針對性的輔助練習和答題技巧訓練就能有效提分，但大多數的孩子英文並不能達到母語水平，只能穩紮穩打做好長期備戰的準備了。

接著就是閱讀技巧的練習。閱讀大多都是文章主旨、故事情節、細節判斷和上下文詞義匹配題，這部分可以靠練習來提升的。
例如Compare and Contrast（對比與比較）就是比較常用的閱讀技巧訓練。這種技巧可以幫助我們分析事物的異同點，判斷事物之間的區別。下圖展現了Compare and Contrast技巧中常出現的關鍵詞，能提升學生抓取文章信息的速度。
MAP語言運用
年級：K-12年級

Mechanics：Punctuation usage.
語言結構：標點符號的使用。
Grammar： comprehension of word forms and tenses, sentence structures, phrases and clauses, and accurate spelling.
語法： 理解單詞的形式和時態，句子結構，短語和從句以及準確的拼寫。
Writing strategy： prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing.
寫作策略： 預寫，起草，修改和編輯。
The writing application： Understand various composition forms，such as poetry, personal narratives, and expository compositions
寫作應用： 了解各類文體形式，例如詩歌，個人敘事和說明文。
MAP語言運用也是國內孩子考試的重難點，它包含了英文語法，但又不限於英文語法，還有大小寫、標點符號、拼寫、改寫句子、修改文章等題型。
很多學校對語言運用都沒有系統的講解和練習，缺乏這方面的基礎對未來的寫作質量也會有影響，因此語言運用也是需要重點提升的科目。
