1． 使用比較級時，應該注意比較的對象要前後保持一致。如：
我的電腦比你的電腦貴。
My computer is more expensive than you.(Ⅹ )
My computer is more expensive than yours.( √ )
上海的人口比北京的人口多。
The populationg of Shanghai is larger than Beijing. (Ⅹ )
The populationg of Shanghai is larger than that of Beijing. ( √ )
【注意】
表示人口的多與少，我們不用more或few,而用large或small來表示。
2.形容詞、副詞的比較級前面可以用much,a little ,even,still a lot ,far等次修飾，表示比較的程度。例:
Lesson One is much easier than Lesson Two.第一課比第二課容易得多。
Tom looks even younger than before.湯姆甚至比以前更年輕。
This train runs much faster than that one.這輛火車比那輛跑地快。
She drives still more carefully than her husband.她開車仍然比她丈夫還認真。
【注意】
more可以用在多音節形容詞或副詞前面，構成比較級，但是不可以用來修飾比較級，從而造成重複使用比較級。例：
My sister jumped more farther than me. (Ⅹ )
My sister jumped farther than me. ( √ )
3.比較級+and+比較級表示「越來越…… 」。例:
He is getting taller and taller.他變得越來越高了。
The flowers are more and more beautiful.花兒越來越漂亮。
4.the+比較級，the+比較級表示「越……，越 ……」。例：
The more careful you are，the fewer mistakes you』ll make.你越認真，犯的錯誤越少。
The busier he is ,the happier he feels.他越忙，越覺得高興。
5．在某些情況下，比較級可以和最高級進行轉換。例：
Shanghai is the largest city in China.
=Shanghai is larger than any other city in China. 上海是中國最大的城市。
He is tallest boy in our school.
=He is taller than any other boy in our school.他是我們學校個子最高的男孩。
【注意】
（1） 在最高級轉換為比較級的句型中，any other後面一般跟單數名詞。
（2） 如果比較的對象不在同一範圍，則不需用other。請注意比較：
China is bigger than any other country in Africa. (Ⅹ )
China is bigger than any country in Africa. ( √ ) 中國比非洲的任何一個國家都大。
6．「A+謂語動詞+the+比較級+ofthe
two+……」表示「A是兩者中較……的」。例:
My brother is the taller of the two boys.我弟弟在兩個男孩當中個子最高。
