英語罐頭

罐頭菌今天要講一個比較實用的詞彙。現在海淘的朋友越來越多，特別是零食，但是卻有很多人不清楚買回來的零食有沒有被奸商放進一些「過期食品」便宜出售。為了不讓我的粉絲被騙，今天就來講一下那些日期怎麼看。
1.Production date 生產日期
Production是生產，date是日期，組合起來就是最容易表達「生產日期」的詞組——production date。
The productiondate is the day before yesterday.
生產日期是前天。
生產日期其實可以有很多說法：
（1）Production date
（2）Manufacturing date（縮寫：MFG）
（3）Release date
2.Durability period 有效期，耐用期
Durability是耐用，period是期限，組合起來就是「有效期，耐用期」的詞組——Durability period。
One is the problem of durability period.
其中一個問題是它的耐用期。
和生產期 一樣，有效期，耐用期的說法也有很多：
（1）Durability period
（2）Expiry date（縮寫：EXP）
（3）Shelf life（shelf：貨架，架子。放在貨架上的日期）
3.overdue 過期
既然有生產期，有有效期，那麼肯定少不了「過期」。due就是「截止日期」（寫過論文的朋友應該對這個due都記憶猶新...）,overdue就是「過期」。
According to the statement, payment is overdue.
根據陳述，這報酬是過期未付。
對於過期的東西，特別是我們經常看見的「食物」，還有一個經常看見的說法，expired food（Expiry date是保質期，expired是過期的）
Eating expired food can have bad consequences.
吃過期食品會有很壞的影響。
4.top/bottom shelf 頂級/便宜
剛才說了，shelf是指「貨架」，top shelf product，指擺在商架頂部的商品，因此意思是「頂級商品」，bottom shelf product，指擺在商架底部的商品，因此意思是「便宜的商品」。
Their drink has a premium price because it's made with top shelf liquor.
他們喝的是是高價啤酒，因為它們都是用上等的好酒做成的。
