项目简析
宾夕法尼亚大学的社会政策（Master of Science in Social Policy)项目，下设于社会政策与实践学院(SP2)，项目时长11个月。该项目配备世界一流的师资力量，教授们利用数十年的学术、教学和教育以及社会政策等领域的经验，帮学生们积累社会政策领域的相关经验。同时，该项目能够引领学生参与现实世界的社会政策分析，并将使学生们推动健康、住房、教育、移民等领域的有意义变革做好准备。
宾大社会政策还有一个和数据分析相结合的项目，简称为MSSP+DA，是一个STEM项目。该项目为学生提供了数据分析基础、数据结构编程、量化分析、机器学习、预测分析、空间分析和以及面向公众的数据抓取和数据可视化等数据处理技术方面的核心培训和技能。学生将学习诸如SAS、Java、Python、GIS等编程语言，以处理和分析社会政策方面的数据。同时，该项目在课程设置上同样匹配社会政策经济学、法律及社会政策、社会分析等课程。完美结合了文科思维的社会政策与理性思维的数据分析与算法。
MSSP为学生提供具有竞争力和前沿的数据分析政策实习机会，使毕业生能够在快速发展的社会政策数据分析领域工作。同时，该项目也将实习学分纳入Capstone项目。学生们需完成至少6-8周/150小时的实习来磨练政策分析技能，也为毕业生们未来在社会分析领域内工作积累经验打好坚实基础。
申请新变化
这个申请季，宾大MSSP项目申请大改版。不仅申请的Deadline提前（有且只有一轮DDL：12/15）；Writing Sample也变为命题作文；还增加了人人都要参与的Video Interview环节；原本几乎每个人都要被邀请的一对一面试，也改为挑选性面试，拿到面试的人不一定被录取，反而很多同学会无面录。从录取结果来看，我们的学员几乎人手奖学金。附Writing Sample和Video Interview要求，供同学们参考。
Writing Sample：
Please include a writing sample based on a prompt provided below that demonstrates the critical analysis of a social problem and policy issue. Responses should be a maximum of 800 words, double-spaced, and size 12 font.
The COVID-19 pandemic has a substantial and ubiquitous impact on social lives around the world. Provide a critical analysis of what you see as the most salient social consequence(s) of the COVID-19 pandemic. Include how you would use social policy to address these consequences and/or shape new futures. You may include evidence or data to support your argument.
Video Interview Prompts：
• How will you contribute to the Penn/SP2 community?
• Please address your short- and long-term goals for your education and career (Please also speak directly to the specific degree program(s) you have chosen to apply to).
• Please describe how your professional goals align with the School’s values of diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
• What opportunities are you excited to take advantage of as an SP2 student?
When your recording is finished, review your video interview to make sure everything is recorded properly. If you are unable to play your video, it did not record. Do not submit your application until you have confirmed the video interview recorded correctly.
