About the Project
PhD student position is available to work on extracellular vesicles in cardiovascular biology. The position will be based in Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with an interest in cellular and molecular biology applied to cardiovascular disease research. The studies will include work on cell lines and handling of animals for experiments in animal model systems. Methods used in the projects include molecular biology methods, as well as cellular and immunological techniques.
The PhD student will be supervised by Prof. Edit I. Buzás, who has been investigating exosomes and other extracellular vesicles since 2006.
The PhD student's project will aim to improve our understanding of the roles of extracellular vesicles in cardiovascular biology. To fulfill the aims of this project the PhD student is expected to work collaboratively with the other members of the group who investigate various separate projects on extracellular vesicles as well as members of the broader department working on cell biology and immunology.
The following qualifications will be especially valued:
-Master degree in cell biology/genetics/immunology with studies in virology or cardiovascular disease.
-Experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, exosome analysis and mouse studies.
-Good knowledge of English Language, written and spoken.
