本文是我的第16篇雙語精讀
精讀之前
本材料，罐頭菌都是每天辛苦整理起來的，所以很希望你能好好利用起來，假如好好看，對你的幫助肯定很大。本材料能這樣用：
一.做精讀。罐頭菌會給與一些詞彙表達出來，但你也可以自己進行查詢，分析長難句。
二.英譯漢/漢譯英。雙方向翻譯，並與原文做對比，對於考翻譯，鍛鍊寫作的人來說，能好好地鍛鍊布局與論證。
三.精聽。文章會附帶音頻，可以進行精聽，雖然耗時，但是對於英語綜合能力有很好地提高作用。
四.複述。放音頻，暫停，並重新說出原文或用自己的話表達同樣意思，並進行對比，能很好地鍛鍊自己的表達。
五.工具。最後一點我覺得是最重要的一點，對於段落的內容，我會加入一些我本人的拙見。英語作為語言是一個工具，大家不要為了學英語而學英語，學英語是為了擴展自己的眼界，接觸更加多的內容而存在的。

「Is this how we should show up before you come to our games?」 read the frustrated slogan of the French national team, posing nude during the women’s football World Cup in 2011. At this year’s tournament in France figures smashed records without such desperate measures. FIFA, the game’s governing body, estimates that it drew a total of 1bn viewers, up from 750m four years ago in Canada. The semi-final featuring England was the most watched television programme of the year so far in Britain. Some 14m Americans saw their team beat the Dutch 2-0 to win their fourth title on July 7th, more than tuned in to most basketball and baseball league finals.

1.「IS THIS HOW we should show up before you come to our games?」 read the frustrated slogan of the French national team, posing nude during the women’s football World Cup in 2011.
「我們非得這樣，你們才會來看比賽嗎？」這是法國國家隊在2011年女足世界盃期間的全裸宣傳寫真上的辛酸口號。
（1）Frustrated，懊惱的，挫折的。這裡的「辛酸」其實更加多的表示是女足對於沒有人看比賽的無奈。
例句：Are you feeling frustrated in your present job?你是否在現在的工作里感到灰心呢？
2.At this year’s tournament in France figures smashed records（break a record） without such desperate measures.
今年在法國的女足世界盃上，無需這樣的「苦肉計」觀眾人數也破了紀錄。
（1）Smashed records，打破記錄。一般對於「打破記錄」我們都會用break來表示，而這裡用smash（粉碎），也同樣能用於翻譯「打破記錄」，會更加有力量感，突顯記錄的打破。
例句：Petersen smashed the 400 metres record by over half a second.彼得森以快了半秒多的成績輕鬆打破了400米紀錄。
（2）Desperate measures，苦肉計，Desperate，鋌而走險。直譯的話會翻譯成「鋌而走險的計策」，而這裡翻譯成「苦肉計」表示女足不得不以半裸的宣傳方式來引起大家的重視。
例句：Desperate measures are needed to deal with the growing drug problem.對於日益增長的毒品問題需要更加強力的對策來應對。
3.FIFA, the game’s governing body, estimates that it drew a total of 1bn viewers, up from 750m four years ago in Canada.
運營女足世界盃的國際足聯估計，本屆賽事共吸引了10億觀眾，較之四年前加拿大那一屆的7.5億觀眾顯著提升。
（1）Governing body，理事會。這裡雖然有body，但是不要想成是身體或者軀幹，body也有「團隊，機構」的意思，因此這裡是解釋FIFA（國際足聯）。
例句：The league became the governing body for amateur fencing in the U.S.該聯合會成了美國業餘擊劍運動的管理機構。
4.The semi-final featuring England was the most watched television programme of the year so far in Britain.
有英格蘭隊參加的半決賽是今年迄今為止英國收視率最高的電視節目。
（1）Semi-final，半決賽。順便科普一下各種決賽的翻譯：Final-match 總決賽/Semi-final，半決賽/ Quarterfinal，四分一決賽/ eighth-final，八分一決賽
5.Some 14m Americans saw their team beat the Dutch 2-0 to win their fourth title on July 7th, more than tuned in to most basketball and baseball league finals.
7月7日，約1400萬美國人觀看了美國隊以2比0擊敗荷蘭隊、第四次捧杯的決賽，比大多數籃球和棒球聯賽決賽的觀眾人數都多。
（1）這裡開頭的Some翻譯成「大約」，與我們平時常用的about同意，經常可以互換，大家寫作口語的時候可以用來做同義詞替換。
