2) 地點狀從：
Where there is a will, there is a way.
在有意志力的地方，就有一條路。=有志者，事竟成。
Wherever there is smoke, there is a fire.
在任何有有煙的地方，一定有一堆火。=無風不起浪。
寫作技巧：在寫作中，我們可以化用套用句式而不是簡單的引用原句。比如在一場地震中，一方有難八方支援，人間有真情人間有大愛。我們可以說：
Where there is love, there is hope.哪裡有愛，哪裡就有希望。
3) 原因狀從
—Why are you late? —Because I missed the early bus.
—你為什麼遲到？ —因為我沒趕上早班車。
Since/Now that everyone is here, let's begin.
既然大家都來了（大家都知道的事實，顯而易見的原因），讓我們開始吧。
註：表因為的短語，to和of介詞後加名詞不能連接句子。
3to： thanks to, owning to, due to
3of: because of, as a result of, on account of.
4) 結果狀從
I took an umbrella, so that I didn't get wet in the rain.
我帶了把傘，因此我沒淋到雨。
雨下得如此大以至於（導致……結果）我們不能出去。
It is so heavy a rain that we can't go out.
It is such a heavy rain that we can't go out.
It is raining so heavily that we can't go out.
註：so是副詞，可修飾形容詞/副詞，such是形容詞，可修飾名詞/名詞詞組。so/such和that之間有名詞時：
可數名詞複數和不可數名詞，只用such
可數名詞單數，so，such都可以語序不同
名詞前有表數量多少的形容詞時，只用so
口訣：名前such,形副so,多多少少也用so，little屬特殊，「小」用such,「少」用so。
例句：They are such little children that they can't do anything.
他們是如此小的孩子以至於他們什麼也做不了。
He earns so little money that he can't support his family.
他賺錢如此少以至於不能養家。
5) 目的狀從
Take an umbrella in case it rains.
帶把傘,以防下雨。（以防：為了防止）
I take an umbrella so that(=in order that) I won't get wet in the rain. 為了不被雨淋濕，我打了把傘。（主將從現）
注意跟前句對比：I took an umbrella, so that I didn't get wet in the rain.我帶了把傘，因此我沒淋到雨。（主過從過）
6) 方式狀語從句
Do the homework as the teacher told you.
按照老師告訴你的（方式）去做作業。
He talks as if he were the chairman.
他說起話來（的方式）就像自己是主席一樣。
7) 比較狀語從句
He forgets faster than he learns.
他忘的比學的快。
He forgets as fast as he learns.
他忘的跟學的一樣快。（先有比較才知道一樣）
8) 條件狀語從句
If you promise to return on time, I will lend you my car.
如果你許諾按時歸還，我可以借給你我的車。
注意：unless=if not
I won't lend you my car unless you promise to return on time.
我不會借給你我的車除非你許諾按時歸還。
=I won't lend you my car if you don't promise to return on time.
我不會借給你我的車如果你不許諾按時歸還。
I will lend you my car on condition that you promise to return on time.
我可以借給你我的車條件是你許諾按時歸還。
I will lend you my car on as long as you promise to return on time.
只要你許諾按時歸還，我可以借給你我的車
9) 讓步狀語從句
儘管他歲數大了，他堅持學習。
Although/Though/While/Even though(if) he is old, he keeps learning.
Old as（though） he is, he keeps learning.
注意：as必須倒裝，though可倒可不倒，although等不能倒裝。
Whichever way you choose, wherever you go, whatever you do, whoever you love, however you hate me, whenever you come back, I will wait for you here.
無論你選擇那一條路，無論你去向何方，無論你做了什麼，無論你愛上誰，無論你多討厭我，無論你何時歸來，我都將在這等著你。
