自2008年起，我校與美國芝加哥大學開展醫學教育教學改革。雙方通過創辦「五年制中美實驗班」的形式已培養了五屆畢業生，共238人。就在不久前，中國國際電視台（CGTN）以《中美醫學交流往來不斷增長》為題，報道了兩校的合作進展。

Dr. Jonathan Lio is giving a presentation to the teachers and doctors of the School of Medicine in Wuhan University. He is from the University of Chicago, and has been taking part in the Education Reform Project of Wuhan University for five years. "Everyone is impressed with the amount of dedication and passion on the part of the Chinese teachers and faculty," he said.
醫學博士劉恩揚正在給武漢大學醫學部的老師們和博士們作報告。他來自芝加哥大學，參加武漢大學的教育改革項目已經五年了，他說：「在合作中，每位武漢大學的教師和員工都積極參與、熱情洋溢，給我們留下了深刻的印象。」
In 2008, the School of Medicine of Wuhan University started the process of educational reform in collaboration with the University of Chicago. More than 100 faculty members and students from Wuhan have visited the American school since then. In consultation with the University of Chicago, Wuhan University's medicine school changed its entire curriculum and teaching concepts and methods.
2008年，武漢大學醫學部與芝加哥大學合作啟動了教育改革。此後，100多名教職員工和學生赴美參觀訪問了芝加哥大學。通過交流和協商，武漢大學醫學部改變了其課程設置、教學理念及方法。
According to Professor He Chunyan from the Basic Medicine School of Wuhan University, "We've integrated many separate courses into one,which helps the students to have a complete and systematic understanding of a subject."
武漢大學基礎醫學院的何春燕教授說：「我們將以前許多獨立開設的課程整合為了一門課，這樣可以幫助學生對一個學科形成完整而系統的理解。」
Deputy Chief Physician Dai Zhe, who works at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, also teaches at the school. She speaks highly of the curriculum integration. "Basic medical science, clinical science and clinical practice used to be separate courses. But now we have integrated the three. Students can now have clinical experience earlier than before, which has greatly enhanced their clinical skills."
武漢大學中南醫院副主任醫師代喆，也在醫學部工作，她給予課程整合高度評價：「基礎醫學、臨床科學和臨床實踐這三門課程之前是獨立開課的，但通過改革我們將三門課程整合在了一起。現在，學生可以更早地獲得臨床經驗，這大大提高了他們的臨床技能。」
Reducing lectures and adding more group studies is another step to help them become active learners. The relationship with Chicago is not just a one-way street. So far, more than 300 faculty members and students from there have also come to Wuhan for exchages.
減少講座數量和增加小組學習是幫助他們成為更加積極主動的學習者的又一舉措。武漢大學與芝加哥大學間的關係不僅僅是單向的。到目前為止，美方的300多名教職員工和學生也訪問了武漢。
"Teachers on both sides have grown and learned a lot. Not only teachers from Wuhan love to go to Chicago, teachers from Chicago also learned a lot from coming here. We've carried out a lot of researches as well, not only in China but also in the U.S.," Dr. Lio believed "two is better than one."
劉恩揚博士表示：「通過合作關係的建立，雙方的老師都獲得了成長，收穫良多。我們還合作進行了很多科學研究，雙方實現了共贏。」
"By working together, we put our strength together. I think we can achieve something better than we can do while being apart. Especially, we live in an environment where it's important to understand each other; how different people do things in different ways. Establishing this connection between U.S. and China helps build that," Lio said.
「通過共同的努力，我們可以共同發揮力量，來實現1+1大於2的效果。特別是，我們生活在當前的社會環境中，人與人之間的交流互動是極為重要的，我們要知道不同種族、不同國別、不同年齡、不同信仰的人是如何思考和處事的。中美之間的這種交流互動有助於建立良好的合作夥伴關係。」
Tang Qizhu, head of the School of Medicine of Wuhan University, pointed out that making the most of the advantages of both sides forms the basis of their collaboration.
武漢大學校黨委常委、副校長、醫學部部長、醫學部黨工委書記唐其柱指出，充分發揮雙方優勢是雙方合作的基礎。
"The talent-fostering concepts of the University of Chicago fit the trend of medical development. Their experiences are very valuable for us. And the University of Wuhan has its own advantages. One of them is abundant clinical cases, which greatly help clinical practices," said Tang.
他說：「芝加哥大學的人才培養理念順應了醫學發展的趨勢，他們的經驗對我們有極高的借鑑意義。同時，武漢大學也有很多自己的優勢，比如，我們有豐富的臨床案例，這對臨床實踐有很大的幫助」。
Tang also said Wuhan hopes to scale up cooperation with American universities even further in the future. It also plans to continue medical education reform and foster medical talent with an international perspective, thereby ensuring that Chinese patients continue to benefit from the school's ever closer collaboration with its U.S. partners.
唐其柱還說，在不遠的將來，武漢大學希望能進一步擴大與美國各大學間的交流和合作。武漢大學醫學部將繼續進行醫學教育改革，並從國際角度培養醫學人才，從而確保國內患者能從學校與美國合作夥伴的密切往來中受益。
10月21日，美國哈佛醫學院高級副院長Ajay Singh（阿傑伊·辛格）一行來訪，與我校簽署合作協議，雙方將在醫學師生交流、研究生培養、臨床及科研人才培養等方面正式開啟合作，副校長唐其柱代表我校與該校簽署協議。

據悉，今年9月，唐其柱訪問哈佛大學醫學院期間，已與其達成一系列合作意向。根據協議，自2020年起，武大醫學部每年選派30人參與哈佛醫學院的人才培養項目，以及2人參加研究生培養項目。雙方合作範圍包括但不限於教師培訓，臨床科研，醫療領導力與管理，安全、質量、信息化與領導力，兒科，手術，臨床研究碩士、醫療質量與安全碩士、臨床運營碩士等，助力武漢大學的醫學科研、創新及國際化。
唐其柱代表因公出差的校長竇賢康院士對辛格一行的來訪表示熱烈歡迎，他介紹了武漢大學的概括和醫學部優勢特色，並指出，哈佛醫學院具有兩百多年歷史，屬於全美第一、世界頂尖的醫學院，合作協議的簽署標誌著雙方將在共同推進中美醫學教育發展，加強聯合醫學研究方面展開深入合作。

辛格詳細介紹了哈佛醫學院的研究生培養項目。該項目目前在中國僅與解放軍總醫院、北京協和醫學院、復旦大學醫學院等三家醫學機構合作，武大是第四家合作單位。辛格希望藉助研究生培養這一合作契機，與武大醫學院開啟醫生交流、教師培養、平台搭建等方面的更多合作。對此，唐其柱回應，武漢大學附屬醫院每年接待上萬名病人，有充足臨床經驗，這為兩校合作打下了堅實基礎，我校也願意與哈佛醫學院共享臨床數據。
