話說得很direct(直接的)，錯誤善於detect(發現)，缺點從不neglect(忽視)，用人細心select(挑選)，公共設施erect(建造)，人民利益protect(保護)。

1、direct towards
toward：向，趨向，靠近，接近，direct towards不是直接靠近，而是指「花時間或力氣去做」，相當於cost time,strength to do.
例句：

2、detect in
detect做動詞解釋時，意思是「發現，發覺，查出，查明，偵察」等，detect in是指「在(某人)做(某種壞事)時抓住 catch (sb) doing (sth wrong)」。

3、neglect of duty
neglect是「忽視，忽略；疏忽；漏做」，neglect of duty就是忽視自己的責任，也就是我們常說的「玩忽職守」的意思。

4、protect against
protect是「保護，防衛；警戒」，就是保護什麼以免怎麼樣。protect against就是「使免受」，protect from也是此意。

5、select society
選擇性社交？不是，其本意是指「上流社會」，小夥伴是不是不清楚啊，這就知道了。
