kill the clock=採取拖延戰術
背 景 ：這個戰術通常指常用在球賽中，當一個球隊在一場球賽即將結束前得分處於領先地位，那他們就會儘量拖延時間，不緊不慢地發球、傳球，以減少對方得球進球的機會，保住他們的領先地位並取得勝利。
再次強調，這不是讓你「殺鬧鐘」啊，雖然早上確實有分分鐘掐死它的衝動。
例句：
Our team was two points ahead with only three minutes to go. We tried to kill the clock, but we fumbled the ball.

字面意思是「把時鐘往回撥」，很容易聯想到是希望時光倒流，可時間怎麼能倒流呢？
因此它的實際意思是表達自己留戀過去的心態。

round the clock=夜以繼日，日夜不停
round作動詞時，有「繞行」的意思，所以整個詞組可以理解為「繞著時鐘跑」，也就引申為「夜以繼日，日夜不停」的意思。
很符合我們現在說的「007」，加班狗的苦逼日常。
