It was raining and the Little Princess was busy with her painting
下雨的一天，小公主忙著畫畫的時候，
when the awful thing happened...
一件可怕的事情發生了。
...she knocked her water pot over
她撞到了她的水桶，
and she spoiled the best painting she had ever done.
她毀掉了她有史以來畫得最好的一幅畫。
"Don't worry," said the Maid,
「不用擔心，」女僕說。
"everything's OK!"
「一切都會好的！」
And she mopped up the mess.
然後她把水拖乾淨。
"I WANT MY MUM!"yelled the Little Princess.
「我要媽媽！」小公主大哭起來。
Mum held up the soggy picture.
媽媽拿起這幅濕乎乎的圖畫。
"That's WONDERFUL!"she said.
「畫得真好！」她說。
"A rainy day."
「畫的是下雨天吧。」
The Little Princess smiled.
小公主開心地笑了。
When the rain stopped,
當雨停了的時候，
she went outside to play on the see-saw
她出門去玩蹺蹺板，
and the terrible thing happened...
又一件可怕的事發生了。
she banged her knee.
她的膝蓋撞傷了。
"There,there,"said the Doctor.
「好了，好了。」醫生說。
"That's OK now."
「現在沒事了。」
And she put some smelly stuff onto it.
接著醫生往傷口上塗了一些難聞的東西。
"I WANT MY MUM!"cried the Little Princess.
「我要媽媽！」小公主大叫。
And Mum kissed the smelly knee better.
媽媽過來親了親她的膝蓋。
The Little Princess smiled.
小公主就不覺得疼了。
That night,the Little Princess couldn't sleep
到了晚上，小公主睡不著，
because of the monster living under the bed.
因為她覺得床下面有個怪物。
"There isn't a monster living under the bed,"
「床底下沒有怪物，」
said Dad."Look!"
爸爸抬起床腳給她看。「看！」
But the Little Princess daren't.
但是小公主不敢看。
"I WANT MY MUM!"she screamed.
「我要媽媽！」她大叫起來。
"I'll read stories to you and the monster,"
「那我給你和這隻怪物講個故事吧，」
said Mum.
媽媽說。
The Little Princess smiled.And fell asleep.
小公主不害怕了。然後一會兒就睡著了。
"I HATE eggs!" said the Little Princess at breakfast.
「我討厭吃蛋！」小公主在吃早餐時說。
"Eat it up,"said the cook."It's awfully good for you."
「吃光它，」廚師說。「這個對你很好的。」
"I WANT MY MUM!"howled the Little Princess.
「我要媽媽！」小公主大吼。
"Oh, GOODY!"said Mum.
「哇哦！」媽媽說。
"Dinosaur eggs. I love those."
「恐龍蛋呀，我可喜歡吃了。」
The Little Princess smiled.
小公主笑著追起媽媽。
"Hey, save some for ME!"
「嘿，給我留點！」
All morning the Little Princess had to play by herself.
整個早上小公主都在自己玩。
The Maid popped in to play Ludo.
女僕突然進來，要玩Ludo。
"I WANT MY MUM!"bawled the Little Princess.
「我要媽媽！」小公主大喊。
The Admiral popped in to play boats.
將軍跑進來要玩船。
"I WANT MY MUM!"hooted the Little Princess.
「我要媽媽！」小公主叫起來。
The Little Prince popped in to play anything at all.
小公主什麼都不想玩，到處跑來跑去，
And to stop the noise.
她不想再待在這麼吵的地方了。
"I WANT MY MUM!"shrieked the Little Princess.
「我要媽媽！」小公主尖叫。
At last Mum came, with some thrilling news.
最後媽媽來了，她帶來了一個令人激動的消息。
"The little Duchess has asked you over for a sleepover tonight,
「公爵家的女兒請你去她家過夜啦，
with crisps and a video."
有薯片吃還有影碟看。」
The Little Princess packed her bag,and began to cry.
於是小公主邊哭邊打包行李。
"What's the MATTER?"said Mum.
「怎麼了？」媽媽說。
"I DON'T WANT TO GO!"sobbed the Little Princess.
「我不想去！」小公主啜泣起來。
"I WANT TO STAY HERE WITH GILBERT AND YOU!"
「我想和你還有吉伯特在一起！」
"But Gilbert and I are coming with you," said Mum.
「但是我和吉伯特會陪你一起去的，」媽媽說。
At the Little Duchess's castle,
到了公爵女兒的城堡里，
the video was turned on and Mum crept away.
媽媽把影碟放下就悄悄走了。
"I WANT MY M..."began to Little Princess...
「我要...」小公主又要哭了...
...but the video was terribly funny
...但是影碟太好看了，
and the crisps were terribly good.
薯片也很好吃。
The Little Princess smiled.
小公主好開心。
Back in the Royal Palace,Mum looked at Dad.
說回皇宮裡，媽媽看著爸爸。
"She's having a wonderful time," she said.
「她現在肯定玩的正開心呢，」媽媽說。
Then...
然後媽媽難過起來...
"...I WANT MY LITTLE PRINCESS!"
「...我想我的小公主了！」
