以前看美劇時
看到裡面的人說
「Where was I」
還以為是要上演
我是誰，我在哪的失憶戲碼
後來一看字幕才明白
儘管這句話是用「where」提問的
但它所問的
和地點完全無關
而是一句地道的習慣性問句
「我剛剛講到哪兒了?」
(Now)where was I?
What was I talking about? Where did I leave off? (Said after an interruption of some sort.)
我剛才在說什麼?我說到哪裡了?(因為某些情況被打斷後會說的話)
就比如Sex Education Season 2 Episode 6中，媽媽在給女兒讀書，拿起書來記不起來上次讀到哪裡了，於是說道：

A: "Now where was I, before Joan interrupted us?"

B: "Going over your ideas for next month's cover art, sir."

The word where rhymes with care, fair, and stare.

It is pronounced exactly the same as the word wear (as in wear clothes).

The word were rhymes with sir and fur.

It’s the same sound as in the word bird.

The word we』re is short for 「we are.」
we』re是we are的縮寫形式
You can pronounce it with an eer sound as in beer and fear:
