一个学生提到她的海外经验，周遭的老外、老中都笑翻了。
不管是英文翻中文，或是中文翻英文，逐字翻译都会闹笑话。逐字翻译，常会讲出语法没有错，但是中文味很重的英语。
例如，借厕所用“May I borrow your toilet?”（May I use the bathroom?）；全身酸痛就：“I'm painful.”(I ache all over才对)。
今天帮大家整理10句最常见的直翻英语错误和解决策略。
没有座位了。
把中文结构照搬到英中，是造成失误的主要原因之一。例如接到电话，要回答对方说，
他不在座位上。
He is not on her seat. (X)
这样表达很拗口，直接说：
He is not in right now. (O)（他现在不在）
He is not available. (X)
对不起, 没有座位了。
Sorry, Sir, we have no seats now. (X) 要说成
Sorry, we have no seats available. (O)
我遇到了很多困难。
I am having many difficulties. (X)
I am having a few problems / lots of problems. (O)
请快点走，否则我们会迟到的。
Please hurry to walk or we'll be late. (X)
Please hurry up or we'll be late. (O)
别理他。
Don't pay attention to her. (X)
Leave her alone. (O)
我工作很忙。
My job is busy. (X)
I'm busy with work. (O)
很忙的是人，不是工作，要说成
…busy with是一个好用的句型，忙于功课，就用busy with studies，忙于家事，就用busy with housework。
我的工作是老师。
My job is a teacher. (X)
I am a teacher. (O)
或是
My job is teaching. (X)
他身体很健康。
His body is healthy. (X)
He is in good health. (O)
He's healthy. (O)
真正健康的是”he”，不是”body”。
价格太贵了。
The price is too expensive/cheap. (X)
The price is too high/ rather low. (O)
或
It is too expensive/cheap. (O)
价格是高低，东西才是贵或便宜。
车速快了。
The speed of the car is fast. (X)
The car is speeding. (O)
或
"The car is going too fast." (O)
