信息時代，每個人每天都要處理一大堆信息，「有什麼事發信息給我」「到家給我發信息」……只是「發信息」應用如此頻繁，英語怎麼說你知道嗎?
1、「發信息」不是 send message
send a message在英語中有這麼個意思：
to make someone understand that a particular thing is right or true, or to make someone understand what your attitude is
讓某人明白某件事是對的或真實的，或者讓某人明白你的態度；向…發出明確信息
例句：
By taking this action, we are sending a message that bullying will not be tolerated.
通過採取這一行動，我們發出了一個明確的信息：欺凌行為不會被容忍。
The magazine sends the wrong message about healthy weight to teenagers.
這份雜誌在青少年的健康體重問題上發出了一個錯誤的信息。
而我們現在常說的「發信息」，老外會說text sb.就是打字給某人留言
例如：
I'll text you as soon as I get home.
我一到家就給你發信息。
Text me when you arrive.
到了就給我發信息。
不管微信、簡訊這些消息都可以用text，想強調用「微信」就說：text me on WeChat
2、「送禮物」≠send a present
首先send的用法是沒錯的，send sb sth 或 send sth to sb
送某人某物，但是這個「送」和我們中文的「送」是有區別的，來看一個例子
他送了我一份禮物。
He sent me a present.（錯誤×）
He gave me a present.（正確√）
正確的表達應該是：give sb a present，因為send 所指的送其實是：寄送，傳送
除非禮物是郵寄或由專人送去的，否則就不能用這個詞，而give本身就有「贈送」的意思
