一、 though作副詞，意為「儘管如此」、「然而」、「不過」。如：
She promised to phone. I heard nothing, though.
使用副詞though時，要注意以下幾個方面：
1. 作副詞用的though往往位於句末（如上例），前面常有逗號，但有時也可不用逗號。如：
If you like sports that you can do on your own, then try dancing, shooting or aerobics (有氧運動). Some of these are very tiring, though.
He often makes mistakes. I don't think he is a foolish boy though.
2. 如果句子較長，though也可以置於句子中間。如：
There's no excuse, though, for hurting her feelings.
二、 though作連詞，意為「雖然」。如：
Though we are poor, we are still happy.
使用連詞though時，要注意以下幾個方面：
1. though作連詞引導讓步狀語從句時可以與although換用，只是 although 比 though 更為正式， 但作副詞時卻不可用although替代though。如：
Though / Although the work is hard, I enjoy it.
The work is hard; I enjoy it, though. (此句不可用although)
2. 不可在同一句中既用though又用but表示轉折，二者只可選用其一。如：
他認為我太好說話了，不過也沒關係。
He thinks I'm too easy-going, but it doesn't matter.
He thinks I'm too easy-going; it doesn't matter though.
三、 yet作副詞用法。
1. yet作副詞，意為「已經」、「至今」、「仍然」。 通常用於否定句和疑問句中及用於表示懷疑的動詞之後，且通常位於句末。如：
Is your mother back yet?
I don't want to go away yet.
2. 副詞yet有時與情態動詞連用，意為「遲早」、「早晚」。如：
We may win yet.
四、 yet作連詞用法。
1. yet作連詞錶轉折，意為「但是」、「然而」。如：
He said he would be late, yet he arrived on time.
2. 連詞yet有時可與並列連詞and或but連用，構成習語and yet和but yet，且兩者大致同義(均相當於錶轉折的but)｡
Everyone thinks that this is a simple method, but yet he can't believe it.
3. 連詞yet不僅可以連接兩個句子，也可以連接兩個形容詞，可譯成「卻」。如：
It is completely waterproof (防水的), yet light and comfortable.
4. although / though, while, even if不能與表示轉折的but連用，但是可以與yet連用。如：
Although / Though we have made some progress, yet we still have a long way to go.
While they are my neighbors, yet I don't know them well.
