1. command

【歸納】

作名詞時,意為:命令;指揮;(尤指對語言的)掌握(常用於have a / an ... command of sth.結構)。如:

Give your commands in a loud, confident voice.

The army was under the command of General Smith.

He has a good command of spoken French.

作動詞時,意為:掌握,支配;指揮,控制;吩咐,命令(常用於以下結構:command sb. to do sth.;command + that從句,註:從句謂語用「should +動詞原形」,should可以省略)。如:

The employers command great wealth but we have nothing.

The captain of a ship commands all the officers and men.

The general commanded his men to attack the city.

Jack commanded that they (should) come early.

2. come up

【歸納】come up可表示以下含義:

走過來,走近。如:

A beggar came up to us and asked for money.

提及,被提出。如:

The question of wage increases came up at the board meeting.

發生。如:

2. persuade

【歸納】persuade是動詞。

3. view

作動詞時,意為:認為,看待;查看,察看;觀看。如:

He views the whole thing as a joke.

We will go and view the house before we buy it.

What are you viewing tonight?

作名詞時,意為:看法,見解;視線,視野;風景。如:

Do you have any views about / on what we should do now?

Don't stand in front of me — you're blocking my view of the stage.

1. as if / as though

【歸納】as if / as though意為「仿佛,好像」,其引導的狀語從句或表語從句中的謂語形式:表示現在情況時用動詞的過去式,表示過去情況時用「had +過去分詞」。如:

He treats me as if I were a stranger.

I felt as though I had witnessed the whole thing.

【拓展】如果as if / as though引導的從句是事實或發生的可能性很大時,多用陳述語氣,特別是在句型It looks / seems as if / as though ...中。如:

It seems as if the teacher is not satisfied with our performance.

Better take an umbrella with you. It looks as if a big storm is just around the corner.

2. shock

【歸納】

作動詞時,意為「使震驚,使驚愕」,常用於以下結構:shock sb.; be shocked at sth.; be shocked + that從句。如:

It shocked me to see how my neighbors treated their children.

I was shocked at the change in his appearance.

She was shocked that he had refused her help.

作名詞時,意為:震驚;令人震驚的事;(由爆炸、地震等引起的)劇烈震動;休克;電擊。如:

The bad news left us all speechless from shock.

The whole thing has come as such a shock to me.

The shock of the earthquake was felt for miles.

She died of shock following an operation on the brain.

He got a slight shock when he touched the live wire.

3. trap

【歸納】

作動詞時,意為:(用陷阱、夾子等)捕獲;使陷入困境;使陷入圈套,使中計,使上當(常用於trap sb. into doing sth.結構)。如:

The old man lives by trapping animals and selling their fur.

They rescued two boys trapped in the elevator.

Think carefully before you answer his questions. You may be trapped into giving away vital information.

作名詞時,意為:陷阱;詭計,圈套;困境。如:

Many mice were caught in a trap.

The police set traps to make the thief tell where the money was.

To break out of the poverty trap they need help from the government.

I have turned to all the well-known reference books for help.

把……轉向。如:

After he left the university he became a teacher, but later turned to journalism.

3. escape

【歸納】

escape作動詞時,意為:逃跑,逃走;逃避,避免(可跟名詞或動詞-ing形式);逃過……的注意,被……忘掉;泄漏,逸出。如:

The hotel guests tried their best to escape from the burning building.

You were lucky to escape punishment / being punished.

You cannot expect that something may escape the teacher's attention.

There's gas escaping somewhere — can you smell it?

escape作名詞時,意為:逃脫,逃離;漏出;逃避現實的辦法,消遣,解悶。如:

The thief jumped into a car and made his escape.

There was a rapid escape of gas.

He listens to music as an escape from the pressures of work.
