finally、at last與in the end的辨析
（1）finally可放在句首、句中或句尾，強調在列舉論點時，引出最後一個內容，有表示盼望已久的事情終於實現了的含義。
They talked about it for hours. Finally, they decided not to go.
他們討論了好幾個小時，最後決定不去了。
此外，finally還可用在句中的動詞前面，表示「等了很久才…」，但感情色彩不濃。
We waited and waited, and the train finally arrived.
我們等了又等，最終火車來了。
（2）at last可放在句首或句尾，表示期待的感情更為強烈，強調經過曲折後才達到目的。
My brother went to college at last. 我弟弟終於上大學了。
She came at last. 她總算來了。
（3）in the end可放在句首或句尾，可以與at last互換，表示經過困難之後才達到目的，但表示對結局的預測時，只能用in the end。
In the end we found the house. 最後我們找到了那間房子。
They won in the end. 最後他們贏了。
