我們都知道，word有單詞的意思，但是很多小夥伴肯定不知道excel的意思。
比如老外常說的「You excel me」，可千萬不能理解成「你表格了我」。

excel作為動詞，有兩種意思：
第一種是擅長、善於的意思，常用的表達是「 excel in/at sth/at doing sth」，其英文注釋是：
to be very good at doing sth
【譯】非常擅長做某事
第二種是戰勝、超越的意思，如果老外說「you excel me」，言外之意就是「你戰勝了我，是你比較強」。
ps：「you excel me」有稱讚的意思，我們通常可以回答他「thank you」來表達謝意，或者謙虛地說「I'm flattered」（你過獎了）。

這個短語的意思是「一字不差的、逐字翻譯的」，其英文注釋是：
using exactly the same words
【譯】使用完全相同的詞
例句：
He explains this regulation to me word for word.
他逐字逐句地替我解釋這項條例。
word 作為名詞除了「單詞」的意思，還有「話語」的意思。
my word 就是「我的話語」，Take my word for it的意思就是「相信我說的話，我說的話准沒錯兒」，相當於：Believe me、Trust me。
例句：
You'll buy nothing but trouble if you buy that house, take my word for it.
你要是買那棟房子只會買來麻煩，我說的都是真的。
這個口語表達的意思是：speak to someone briefly in private. 就是「和某人私下裡談一談聊一聊」。
例句：
Dio, I'd like to have a word with you.
迪奧，我想和你聊聊。
這個口語表達可不是媽媽的話哦，它的意思是：tell sb to say nothing about sth and keep it secret.就是「（提醒別人保守秘密）不要外傳 」的意思。
例句：
